Here at TIER ONE CPR we are committed to teaching each student CPR to the highest of standards in a relaxed, stress free environment. All of our Instructors are Paramedics or have been Paramedics in the past with years of experience. The classes will be fun and very informative. CPR is an evolving science and here at TIER ONE CPR we continually receive current and up-to-date literature and training which we bring to our students.
Matthew Layer
Allow me to introduce myself and to give you some background information on my training and experience in the medical field. My name is Matthew Layer. I am the owner of TIER ONE CPR. I am a former Sargent/Crew Chief Paramedic/EMT and I was fortunate enough to be on the High Angle Rescue Team and work at Fairfield County Memorial Hospital Emergency Department in South Carolina. I am a Certified CPR, ACLS, PALS and First Aid Instructor for the American Heart Association and I have been in the Healthcare industry since 1995.
Doug Launius
My name is Doug Launius. I have been a Nationally Registered Paramedic since 2000. I have also carried certifications in North Carolina, South Carolina, and the United Kingdom. Over the years I have worked on 911 emergency response ambulances for both large, over 65,000 calls annually, and small EMS systems. In addition, my healthcare background has allowed me to be an effective ski patrol member, white water rafting guide, & work as medical director for several adventure races. Prior to all that, I am proud to have served as a U.S. Marine. Lastly, as a veteran field paramedic, I am excited to share my knowledge and first hand experiences of real world CPR situations.
Joshua Allen
My name is Joshua Allen. I am a Nationally Registered EMT-B and certified AHA CPR/First Aid Instructor. I served as a full time firefighter and EMT in South Carolina for eight years. I specialized in technical rescue operations and tactical emergency care. I just recently got put back on active duty orders for the Army but continue to volunteer as a firefighter and EMT here locally in Henderson County. I love hiking and spending time with my family. My goal is to provide life saving knowledge based on doctrine and first hand experience in a professional and fun environment.
Jessica Day, MSN, APRN, NP-C
Jessica is an AHA-certified instructor with a diverse background in nursing and advanced practice. As a board-certified nurse practitioner and registered nurse, Jessica has worked in a wide variety of healthcare settings, including the pediatric emergency department, trauma units, ENT, and operative nursing. With a passion for education, she also serves as a nursing lecturer and program director at a local college, helping to shape the next generation of healthcare providers. She most enjoys teaching hands-on skills and pediatric first-aid.
